As some of you may know I'm a big fan of the Turtles' reboot on Nick. I like writing fanfictions about them, and I like reading fanfiction. I ship Donatello/April and Leonardo/Karai, and my stories are very often about Raph and my OC Aurelia. I like human/mutant-relationships, and some people don't. And that's okay. That is not what is starting to aggravate me, it is the reasons those people gave. Most of them can't say what it really is about – that they don't like those kind of relationships because they think it's awkward/abnormal/etc. They give two main reasons – bestiality and biology. And both don't work as I will show you. Let's start! ;)

Bestiality:
People keep saying that a human/mutant or anthro-relationship is in fact bestiality. Well, let's take a closer look.
What exactly is bestiality? Wikipedia says that bestiality is "the term for sexual acts between humans and animals".
Animals. Get it? Mutants and anthros are no animals. They are animal-like, but no – I repeat: NO animals.
The big difference here is that any sexual acts with animals are by no means consensual. Animals can't consent. Anthros/mutants can! That's the big difference between real animals and anthros/mutants.
So anthro/mutantXhuman-relationships are no bestiality.
Seriously, if they were, Disney's Beauty and the Beast would be bestiality, too. I don't think Disney would ever have made that movie if there had been the slightest hint that it could be seen as bestiality.

So, before anyone screams, "I don't like it because it's bestiality!", just tell the truth – that you don't like it. Period.

Biology:
Then there are those who say that they don't like human/mutant-relationships because the mutants (in that case the turtles) are shown biologically incorrect. This reason is mostly given when it comes to adult stories.
Well, I want to be honest with you. Talking about biology when it comes to anthropomorphic turtles is just stupid. Seriously, when was the last time you saw a real turtle running around on two legs?
So, when people say turtles don't have human anatomy when it comes to private parts, then how do you explain that they have hands and fingers and walk on two legs? Okay, monkeys have hands and fingers as well, but the upright walk is especially human! So they do have human anatomy.
Seriously, if biology your only counter-argument, it is no counter-argument. Discussing about biology normally doesn't lead you anywhere because it is not about biology. Biology is just a dummy argument. What it is really about is liking or not liking. And that's it.

As I said, if you don't like it, say so. Don't talk about biology or bestiality. Just say that it is not after your fancy. Because that is what it really is about. Period.

For me, I have nothing against their species. It's the fact that both Leo and Karai are technically siblings. Whether Leo is Splinter's adopted or biological son from being exposed to his DNA when they mutated, it's illegal in both the US and Japan for them to be in a relationship, even if Leo is Splinter's adopted son. Another reason, I'm against the relationship with Karai is because she lets her thirst for vengeance blind her, thus putting herself and others in harm's way. This resulted in her mutation and almost cost Donnie his life when she and Leo blew up that chemical factory.

If you wish to continue shipping them, that's your choice, I'm just saying that while April's and Donnie's relationship would work, Leo's and Karai's would cause more harm than good to their family. Do you think that Splinter would accept such a union? He'd beat the shell off of Leo. He considers them both his children as well as the other turtles. I just don't see him being okay with them being together. I mean no disrespect, but that's my honest opinion.
